Las Vegas Wranglers News Release

LAS VEGAS - The Las Vegas Wranglers® announced today that they have exercised its option to retain the Orleans Arena as its host venue through the 2010-2011 season. The extension follows the initial five-year term which began with the team's inception in 2003.

"We have a lot of emotional capital in this town," said team owner Charles Davenport, IV. "Our fan base is loyal and we feel their support in every aspect of our business."

Davenport said an amendment to the original contract addressed some of the team's concerns but didn't comment further.

"We have moved a step closer to long-term viability and we're looking forward to getting back to the hard work of putting forth a great product," Davenport said.

Since the team's inception the Wranglers have qualified for the post season four out of five seasons and have just become the first team in ECHL to record three consecutive 100-point seasons. Off the ice the team continues to draw consistent crowds to the Orleans Arena.

Games One and Two of the ECHL's National Conference Championship Series against the Utah Grizzlies are Monday and Tuesday nights at the Orleans Arena. Games start at 7:05 pm. Should the Wranglers prevail in the best-of-seven series they will advance to the final ECHL Kelly Cup Championship Series to face either the Cincinnati Cyclones or the South Carolina Stingrays.

The Wranglers advanced to the NCCS by beating the Stockton Thunder in six games in round one and the Alaska Aces in five games in round two.
