BURLINGTON, IA -- The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers offense pounded out fifteen hits and two Rattler pitchers held the Burlington Bees scoreless on four hits for a 7-0 win Friday night at Community Field. Brandon Green had three hits and drove in two runs. Mike Wilson also drove in a pair of runs for the Rattlers. Wisconsin starting pitcher Ivan Blanco worked six scoreless innings for the win. Adam Brandt pitched three scoreless innings for his first Timber Rattler save.

Wisconsin (58-47 overall, 19-16 second half) got the only run they would need in the first inning. Green singled with two outs. Wilson drove Green home with a double to leftcenter.

Wilson doubled to start the sixth inning. Marshall Hubbard doubled into the rightfield corner on an 0-2 pitch to drive in Wilson for a 2-0 Rattler lead. The double by Hubbard chased Burlington starting pitcher Danny Christensen from the game. Yung Chi Chen greeted Bee reliever Zane Carlson with another double into the rightfield corner to plate Hubbard for a 3-0 Rattler lead.

Blanco allowed just three hits while striking out three before turning things over to the bullpen for the seventh. Adam Brandt pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the seventh and the Rattler offense pushed four runs across in the top of the eighth.

Brent Johnson drove in a run with an RBI single, his third hit of the night. After Chris Colton singled, Green drove both runners home with a double. Wilson knocked in his second run of the night with a sacrifice fly and the Rattlers had a 7-0 lead.

Brent wrapped up the game with a scoreless eighth and a 1-2-3 ninth.

Burlington (54-51, 20-15) have lost four games in a row and the Rattlers have won four games in a row.

The shutout was the first for the Timber Rattlers since May 20 when they stopped Clinton at Fox Cities Stadium 4-0.

Game two of the series is Saturday night. Mark Lowe (6-3, 4.66ERA) gets the start for the Timber Rattlers. Burlington plans on sending Kyle Crist (8-2, 4.45ERA) to the mound. Game time is 7:00pm.
