Wisconsin Timber Rattlers News Release
GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers defeated the Burlington Bees 7-2 Thursday night on Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium. The win gave Wisconsin their first three game winning streak of the season. Juan Ramirez pitched seven solid innings and the Rattler offense scored three first inning runs to rally from an early 1-0 deficit.
Burlington (15-23) scored a first inning run to take that early lead. David Lough tripled with one out and scored on a two-out single by Jason Taylor.
Wisconsin (17-19) answered in the bottom of the first inning with four straight hits. Maximo Mendez singled to start the inning. Juan Diaz followed with a triple to drive in Mendez to tie the game. Moments later Edilio Colina doubled to knock in Mendez for a 2-1 lead. Gavin Dickey's single to right moved Colina to third base and Calvin Beamon's sacrifice fly to left drove in Colina for a 3-1 Rattler lead.
Blake Ochoa gave the Rattlers a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning with an RBI single. An unearned run in the bottom of the sixth inning padded Wisconsin's lead to 5-1.
Burlington used the stolen base to get a run in the top of the seventh inning. Jason Taylor was hit by a pitch to start the inning. He stole second and third base before a sacrifice fly by Wilson Tucker drove him home.
Ramirez left after the seventh inning with the 5-2 lead. He gave up four hits and walked one while striking out three for his second straight win.
Jake Wild worked a scoreless top of the eighth and Joe Dunigan provided a little insurance in the bottom of the eighth. Dunigan extended his hitting streak to five games with an RBI infield single and an error on the play allowed Liddi to score all the way from first base for a 7-2 lead.
Rob Harmon pitched a scoreless ninth to close out the Bees.
The Rattlers welcome the Kane County Cougars to town to start a three-game series on Friday night. Edward Paredes (2-3, 5.13) is the scheduled starter for Wisconsin. Kane County will counter with Scott Moore (1-1, 2.50). Game time is 6:35pm.
