Wisconsin Timber Rattlers News Release

GRAND CHUTE, WI - Joe Dunigan drove in three runs and Edward Paredes snapped a personal six-game losing streak with a strong outing as the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers beat the South Bend Silver Hawks 4-1 Wednesday night. The win ended Wisconsin's six-game home losing streak on Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium.

Dunigan gave the Timber Rattlers (5-20 second half, 36-55 overall) an early lead with a two-out, two-run single to right in the bottom of the first inning.

Wisconsin loaded the bases on three straight singles in the bottom of the second inning. A run scored when Edilio Colina grounded into a 4-6-3 double play to give the Rattlers a 3-0 lead.

South Bend (15-11, 48-47) got on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth. Taylor Harbin doubled for the first Silver Hawk hit of the game. One out later, Sean Coughlin singled to center to drive in Harbin. But, that was it for the Hawks on the night as Paredes retired 14 of the last 15 batters he faced.

Wisconsin rallied in the bottom of the fifth inning to score another two-out run. Ron Garth singled with two outs to extend the inning. Dunigan followed with a double to left and Garth beat the throw to the plate for a 4-1 Rattler lead.

Paredes protected that lead through the eighth. The lefty allowed one run on three hits, struck out six, walked one, and matched his professional high for innings pitched as he put the Rattlers in a position to get the win.

Jeff Dunbar relieved Paredes for the top of the ninth and worked a 1-2-3 inning for his first save.

The series continues on Thursday night. Keith Renaud (0-1, 2.25) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers. Josh Collmenter (9-5, 3.34) is set to start for the Silver
