Raptors Rip Open Game #3

Ogden Raptors News Release

In Game 3 of the series, the Raptors harnessed their momentum from Game 2 and kept it rolling through the early innings. Designated hitter Chris Sargent got the party started early, launching a two-run shot in the first to put the Raptors on the board.

After scoring two in the opening frame, the Raptors weren't satisfied - and they made that clear with a five-run second inning. Stretching the lead to six runs gave the pitching staff a comfortable cushion as the game moved toward its middle stages. The lineup's patient, small-ball approach allowed them to take what was given and methodically build up their run total while keeping opposing runners stranded on the basepaths.

In the top of the fourth, the Raptors continued to tack on insurance runs. Cole Jordan tallied his second hit of the game, and Sargent crushed his second home run of the night. With a strong offensive showing in front of them, the Raptors' pitching staff got to work and handled business with impressive efficiency.

Eli Elliott got the start, tossing four innings and allowing four runs on four hits while surrendering four walks. His outing set the stage for Matthew Colucci, who earned the win. Colucci delivered a sharp performance, striking out the side in his lone inning of work while allowing just one hit.

Brayden Bonner followed and, while he got hit around a bit, still managed to navigate a tough lineup to complete a full inning. That effort set up Nico Saltaformaggio and Cam Edmonson to come in and shut the door.

Nico and Cam combined for three full innings of relief, giving up just one run on four hits while striking out four and issuing only one walk. The Raptors' 13-9 victory puts them right where they want to be heading into Game 4.

It's been a hard-fought series so far, and now, past the halfway point, the Raptors will look to extend their winning streak to three and guarantee at least a series split. Game 4 is set for tonight at 7:35 PM MDT, streaming live on FloSports at ogden-raptors.com. Go Raptors!
