Colorado Rapids News Release
DENVER, CO (04-12-04)- The Colorado Rapids announced today their partnership with KBNO-1280 AM, one of the leading Hispanic Radio Stations in the Colorado area. Local Denver Station KBNO-1280 AM "Que Bueno" will serve as the Rapids' official Spanish-language radio broadcast partner in 2004 and will carry all 15 of the club's Major League Soccer home regular season games.
"KBNO's presence in the Colorado Hispanic market makes it the right forum for the Spanish language broadcasting of all of our home games," said Rapids Governor Charlie Wright. "We are excited to have our games airing on such a recognizable media outlet, with such a wide-reaching coverage as we try to service our Spanish-speaking fans in the best way possible."
Zee Ferrufino, the owner and CEO of KBNO Radio 1280, said, "We are very pleased to have this relationship with the Colorado Rapids. Soccer is such an important part of the Hispanic culture, it's good to be able to work with the Rapids and provide Colorado with great game coverage in Spanish."
KBNO, along with its other two stations, 1490 AM in Colorado Springs and 1480 AM in Pueblo, will provide the most comprehensive coverage for Spanish-speaking soccer fans in Colorado, with in-depth analysis and commentary of all of the team's home games, beginning with the team's home opener on Saturday, April 17th at 7:00 p.m. at INVESCO Field at Mile High.
The Rapids will continue their 2004 regular season on Saturday, April 24th when they take on the Major League Soccer defending champion San Jose Earthquakes at 7:00 p.m. (MT) at INVESCO Field at Mile High. Tickets for all Rapids home games are available by calling 303.825.GOAL.
