BURN TO FACE FIRE SATURDAY IN FIRST ROAD MATCH OF YEAR

The Burn will hit the road for the first time this year as they travel to Soldier Field to face the Fire this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Dallas was idle this past weekend after opening up the season with a 1-1 draw vs. Colorado. Chicago has played two games on the year and has yet to score a goal in 0-0 draws with Kansas City and San Jose.

BATTLE FOR BRIMSTONE CUP KICKS OFF SATURDAY AT CHICAGO

Saturday's match at Chicago will mark the first leg of the 2004 Brimstone Cup. Fans of both the Fire and the Burn united to create the cup, which commemorates the rivalry between the two squads. The Brimstone Cup is awarded to the winner of the head-to-head competition between the two teams in a calendar year. After winning the Brimstone Cup outright in 2002, the Burn retained the Cup last year after the Burn and the Fire split the two-game series.

BURN/FIRE SERIES NOTES

The all-time series between Dallas and Chicago is tied 9-9-1...the two teams split the series last year, with Chicago winning 4-1 at home on June 18 and the Burn taking a 2-0 victory on September 20...Dallas has won three of the last four meetings...the Burn is only 3-6-1 in matches at Chicago...Burn forward Jason Kreis has seven goals and eight assists for 22 points in 18 career games vs. Chicago.

BURN DRAWS 1-1 WITH KANSAS CITY SATURDAY IN OKLAHOMA

The Burn battled the Kansas City Wizards to a 1-1 draw Saturday in an exhibition match before 6,738 fans in Edmond, Oklahoma. Forward Bobby Rhine netted the Burn's lone goal in the 58th minute off of a pass from Ty Maurin. Rhine has now scored in the Burn's last three contests (4/3 vs. Colorado and 4/5 vs. Incarnate Word). The Wizards scored the equalizer in the 85th minute as Diego Gutierrez took a pass at the penalty spot and slotted it to the left corner of the goal.
