
L.A. Galaxy Travel to Colorado This Week To Face the Rapids on KCAL 9

LOS ANGELES GALAXY TRAVEL TO COLORADO THIS WEEK TO FACE THE RAPIDS ON KCAL 9: Following two consecutive home games to start the 2004 Major League Soccer regular season, the Los Angeles Galaxy (1-0-1 - 4 pts. - 1st West) travel to Denver, Colorado and Invesco Field at Mile High this Saturday, April 17, for a meeting with the Colorado Rapids (0-0-1 - 1 pt. - 2nd West). The 6 pm (PT) match will be the Galaxy's first game of the new campaign against a Western Conference opponent and can be seen on the Galaxy's English Language television partner, KCAL 9, beginning with Galaxy Countdown at 5:30 pm. Veteran broadcasters Max Bretos and Allen Hopkins will be calling all the action. Galaxy fans wanting to hear all the action as it unfolds can listen to the match on the radio in English on KMPC 1540 AM or in Spanish on KMXE 830 AM.
GALAXY - RAPIDS VIEWING PARTIES AT LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE SOUTHLAND: When the Galaxy are on the road, join other Galaxy fans at official Away Game Viewing Parties. Come cheer on your team at the following Galaxy friendly bars and restaurants. Every Away Game Viewing Party will feature the Galaxy game on the restaurants' televisions, food and drink specials and Galaxy giveaways. And it all starts this Saturday, April 17, when the team travels to Colorado to take on the Rapids. MID-WEEK CLASH LOOMS APRIL 20 AGAINST MEXICAN SIDE TECOS DE UAG: The Galaxy add to their international calendar in 2004 when they play in the Soccer World Super Clasico vs. Mexican club Tecos de UAG Tuesday, April 20 in Nashville, Tennessee. The Clasico, which will be played at the Coliseum in Nashville, is a charity event that matches clubs from each of the major professional leagues in North America. A portion of Soccer World Super Clasico ticket proceeds will be given to two area charities - The Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt and Conexión Américas, a charity that assists Hispanic families in middle Tennessee.
LATE CARLOS RUIZ GOAL GIVES GALAXY 1-1 TIE WITH D.C. UNITED ON THE WEEKEND: A dramatic strike by Carlos Ruiz with five minutes remaining gave the Los Angeles Galaxy a 1-1 tie against visiting D.C. United in front of a sold-out crowd April 10 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. Ronald Cerritos, who entered the match as a second-half substitute, opened the scoring on his first touch as he pounced on a ball in the box in the 68th minute. But Ruiz hit with a bit of magic to give both teams a share of the spoils after they opened their respective seasons with victories.
