Rangers Recall Jayson Megna from Hartford

NEW YORK - New York Rangers General Manager Jeff Gorton announced today that the team has recalled forward Jayson Megna from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Megna, 25, has skated in 21 games with the Wolf Pack this season, registering five goals and seven assists for 12 points, along with eight penalty minutes. He leads the Wolf Pack in shots on goal (68), is tied for the team lead in goals and points, and is tied for second in assists this season. Megna has recorded a goal in two of his last three games with Hartford (two goals). In addition, he has registered a point in three of his last four contests, recording five points (two goals, three assists) over the span. Megna has also notched a point in five of his last eight games, tallying seven points (three goals, four assists) over the span. Megna has recorded a point in 10 of 21 games with the Wolf Pack this season.

The 6-1, 195-pounder has skated in 48 career NHL games over parts of two seasons, all with Pittsburgh, registering five goals and five assists for 10 points, along with 20 penalty minutes. Last season, Megna registered one assist in 12 games with the Penguins. He recorded 40 hits and eight blocked shots with Pittsburgh in 2014-15.

The Fort Lauderdale, Florida native was signed by the Rangers as a free agent on July 1, 2015.
