Tampa Bay Lightning Recall Nikita Nesterov, Reassign Luke Witkowski to Syracuse Crunch

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled defenseman Nikita Nesterov from the Syracuse Crunch today, Lightning vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced. Additionally, the team announced that defenseman Luke Witkowski has been reassigned to the Crunch.

Nesterov, 22, has played in 10 games for Syracuse this season, recording a goal and four points to go along with four penalty minutes. The Chelyabinsk, Russia, native has appeared in six games with the Lightning this season, notching 19 penalty minutes. He has skated in 33 career NHL games, all with the Lightning, recording two goals and seven points to go along with 35 penalty minutes.

Witkowski, 25, has played in four games with the Lightning this season, recording four penalty minutes and one shot on goal. The Holland, Michigan, native has skated in 20 career NHL games, all with the Lightning over the past two seasons, registering 19 penalty minutes. Witkowski has appeared in 13 games with the Crunch this season, recording four assists and six penalty minutes.
