WOLVES HEADLINERS
- PAT CANNONE: The Wolves captain returned to action on Saturday after missing two games to injury ... CANNONE paces the team in scoring with 14 points (5G, 9A) and leads the team in plus/minus rating (+9) ... The former Miami (Ohio) star needs 5 points to become the 31st Wolves player all-time to reach 100 career points.
- ZACH O'BRIEN: Returned to the lineup on Sunday against San Antonio after missing four games ... The right wing has points in five games this season and recorded two assists in a 5-3 road win against Manitoba on Nov. 12.
- JACOB DOTY: The gritty forward not only adds a physical presence on the ice, but has been finding the back of the net as well. DOTY recently strung together a professional-best three-game point streak (2G, 1A), highlighted by goals against Iowa on Nov. 22 and San Antonio on Nov. 28 ... He has eclipsed his goals total (3) from last year when he scored 2 goals in 14 appearances with the Wolves.
- CODY BEACH: Saw his three-game point streak snapped on Sunday ... BEACH compiled a goal and two assists during his streak to give the Wolves a scoring boost ...
BEACH also leads the team in penalty minutes (43).
- SCOOTER VAUGHAN: Has proven to be a versatile performer, spending time at forward and on defense ... VAUGHAN played two games on defense to start the year - scoring a goal in his season debut - before moving to right wing for nine games ... One of the team's fastest skaters, VAUGHAN dropped back to defense this past weekend in the San Antonio series.
WOLF TRACKS
- The Wolves entered last weekend's action ranked fourth in AHL scoring (3.50) before being held to just three goals in three games. Chicago has failed to score more than two goals in its last five games.
- Chicago ranked as the league's least penalized team last week (with 139 PIMs), but fell 11 spots after accruing 14 penalties for 72 minutes at Rockford on Friday. The 72 PIMs were the third-most recorded in the league this season.
- JOHN ANDERSON's team travels to Grand Rapids for the first time this season on Friday night. Since dropping seven of eight games to start the season, the Griffins have become the hottest team in the AHL, winning six straight games.
- The Wolves are in the midst of a three-game losing streak, the longest skid of the season. The Wolves have earned points just once in their last six games after taking points in 10 of 11 games to open the 2015-16 campaign.
