ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Texas Rangers announced Monday evening that 2B Rougned Odor will join the Round Rock Express on a major league rehab assignment beginning on Tuesday, May 8. The infielder has been on the 10-day disabled list since April 10 with a left hamstring strain.

Odor began his rehab on May 5 with the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders. The 24-year-old was hitting .206 with four RBI in 11 games with the Rangers prior to the injury.

In 2017, Odor became the 10th player in Rangers history to appear in each of the club's 162 games. He was also the first Ranger to record back-to-back 30+ home run seasons since Adrian Beltre accomplished the feat from 2011-2013. He ranked second on the team with 30 homers, 241 total bases and 10 game-winning RBI while finishing third on the squad in extra-base hits with 54 and stolen bases with 15.

Odor appeared in 30 games with the Express in 2015, hitting .352 (38-108) with 12 doubles, two triples and 19 RBI before being recalled to the Texas Rangers, where he has spent each of the last three seasons. This marks Odor's first career stint on the disabled list.

Odor is the second member of the Rangers to join the Express on a major league rehab assignment this week, joining RHP Tim Lincecum.

Round Rock opens a four-game series against the New Orleans Baby Cakes on Tuesday. E-Train RHP Tyler Wagner (0-0, 4.50) is scheduled to start against 'Cakes LHP Adam Conley (1-4, 6.84). First pitch at Dell Diamond is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Single-game tickets, season memberships and flex plan ticket packages are on sale now. For more information on the Express, visit RoundRockExpress.com or call (512) 255-2255. Keep up with the Express on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter!
