Salt Lake Bees News Release

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake Bees reeled off their fourth win in a row with a 5-3 Sunday night victory over the visiting Las Vegas 51s.

The Bees and 51s were tied in the bottom of the eighth inning when Chris Carter came to the plate with David Fletcher and Jose Miguel Fernandez on base. Carter lined a triple down the left field line to score both runners and put the Bees in front for good. The Bees jumped out in front in the first inning as Fernandez drove in Fletcher in the first frame. In the third Fletcher would drive himself in, scoring on the 19th inside-the-park home run in franchise history and the first by a right-handed batter since Peter Bourjos in 2010. Las Vegas would rally to tie it in the sixth and the teams would trade runs in the bottom of the seventh and top of the eighth before Carter's decisive triple.

John Lamb turned in an excellent start for the Bees posting five innings of scoreless ball allowing a single hit and striking out six. The Bees are now 7-0 on Lamb start days this season. All three Vegas runs were charged to reliever Jordan Jankowski who pitched two and one-third innings in relief of Lamb. Adam Hofacket (4-0) took the Bees the rest of the way turning in one and two-thirds innings without allowing a base runner to earn his league-leading fourth win of the year.
