San Antonio Rampage News Release
THIS WEEK'S GAMES
Friday, Mar. 13 vs. Rockford @ AT&T Center, 7:00 p.m.
The West Division race heats up when the Rockford IceHogs visit the AT&T Center this Friday. San Antonio leads the season se- ries 2-1-0-1.
Saturday, Mar. 14 vs. Houston @ AT&T Center, 7:00 p.m.
San Antonio's I-10 rival, the Houston Aeros, return to the Alamo City on Saturday. Houston leads the season series 3-1 but expect some fireworks between the two squads who combine for over eight goals a game when they face off.
SHOTS FROM THE POINT 08-09
NO PLACE LIKE HOME: The Rampage have drawn three straight crowds of better than 8,000 to the AT&T Center for a total of 26,841 - an average of 8,947 fans per game. The Rampage attracted a franchise record crowd of 10,265 on 02/28 against Rockford at the AT&T Center. The previous franchise record was 10,238 against Chicago back in February of 2003.
HAPPY TRAILS: After Phoenix (NHL) traded away backup goalie Mikael Tellqvist for a 4th round pick in the 2010 NHL Draft, Rampage goalie Josh Tord- jman got the call up to the big club. Tordjman, who holds the franchise record for wins, made his NHL debut last night stopping 23 of 26 shots in a 3-2 loss to the New York Islanders at Uniondale's venerable Nassau Coliseum.
FOUR SCORE AND SEVERAL GAMES: The Rampage are 0-22-2-1 when they allow four goals or more. They have allowed four or more goals in five of the last eight games. San Antonio has allowed 36 goals in the last eight games (4.5 goals per allowed), going just 2-4-0-2 as a result.
BACK TO THE FUTURE: Despite a flurry of player movement between Phoe- nix (NHL) and San Antonio over the last 30 days, only Josh Tordjman dons the Coyotes jersey. After Steven Goertzen got reassigned last week, all the 08-09 Rampage mainstays are back, including Joel Perrault, David Schlemko, Jeff Hoggan, Garth Murray and Alexander Nikulin.
Ice Chips: Chad Kolarik
Chad Kolarik continues to be one of the top rookie scor- ers in the AHL.
The Rampage got a taste of what was to come after the former Michigan Wolverine joined San Antonio for the Calder Cup Playoffs last season scoring four goals with two assists in seven games.
The Abington, Pennsylvania native is tied for 10th among all AHL rookies in scoring with 15 goals and 26 assists this year. His 41 points are good for second on the team.
Upcoming Promotions
Pucks & Paws: Fans are encouraged to bring their dog to the game on March 14th for the sec- ond annual Pucks & Paws Night. There will be a Pet Fair starting at 6 p.m. on the West Sombrilla with fun activities for both dogs and humans. OwnUp SA will also have an adoption tent where fans can opt to adopt.
Each dog must be accompanied by a human. Tickets are $20 (includes human and dog admis- sions). To purchase a ticket call 444-5554.
