San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO (March 3, 2015) - The San Antonio Rampage will honor the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country in the Armed Forces with their 12th annual Military Appreciation Night, presented by Champion AC, on Saturday, March 7 at 7 p.m. against the Iowa Wild.
All military service members and veterans can receive 50 percent off tickets by calling a Rampage representative, by showing a valid Military ID at the AT&T Center Box Office, or online through GovX.
The team will wear special military-themed jerseys that will be auctioned off following the game with all proceeds benefitting Operation Comfort and the Rampage Sled Hockey Team. The Rampage have raised more than $234,000 to benefit San Antonio's military community in the past 10 years.
"As a veteran-owned company, we are so thankful to be in a position to partner with the Rampage and honor the men and women in uniform, said Champion AC President Ben Hubbert. "We are huge fans of Operation Comfort and their mission of providing services and support to wounded services members."
The Rampage will also host two events at Lackland Air Force Base on Thursday, March 5. The Ice Girls will be a part of a ticket giveaway at the ITT office from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., and T-Bone will assist with a youth hockey clinic from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
"As a former service member, I want to thank our entire organization for hosting a special night for all our servicemen and women throughout the world, but specifically within our community," said Rampage General Manager Eric Joyce. "I've always viewed Military Appreciation Night as a time to reflect upon the great debt we, as citizens of the United States, owe to our grandparents, parents, and now sons and daughters for their incredible sacrifice to stand on the wall of our freedom. To the members of the Rampage community who serve and who have served, we salute you."
Operation Comfort is a nonprofit organization that works with wounded service members who are recovering at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio, Texas. In addition to offering a variety of programs, including swimming, adaptive surfing and hand cycling, for wounded military, the organization operates the Rampage Sled Hockey Team. Formed in 2007, the sled hockey team is made up of wounded military service members and captured the 2014 U.S. Sled Hockey National Championship.
