Rampage Sign Texas Native Tyler Ludwig to PTO

SAN ANTONIO (February 16, 2012) - San Antonio Rampage General Manager Mike Santos announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed defenseman Tyler Ludwig to a professional try-out (PTO).

Ludwig, a native of Colleyville, Texas, has tallied two goals, 19 assists and a plus-16 rating in 47 games with the Allen Americans (CHL) this season. He played in seven AHL games with the Texas Stars in 2009-10 recording four penalty minutes. Last season posted three goals and 13 assists in 70 contests with the Idaho Steelheads (ECHL).

Ludwig, 26, played with the Texas Tornado (NAHL) for four seasons contributing seven goals and 48 assists in 164 games (2002-06). He attended Western Michigan University (CCHA) from 2006-10 playing in 152 collegiate games with 16 goals and 54 assists.

The Rampage continue their Rodeo road trip with a three-in-three series this weekend. They face off against the Texas Stars in a back-to-back matchup on Friday and Saturday at Cedar Park Center and will play the Oklahoma City Barons on Sunday.
