Vancouver Calls for Tanev

The Vancouver Canucks have recalled defenseman CHRIS TANEV from the Chicago Wolves.

TANEV, who dished out an assist in Chicago's 4-3 overtime victory against Grand Rapids on Wednesday night, shares first among Wolves defensemen with a career-high 14 assists and ranks second among team rear guards with a career-best 14 points in 34 games this season. He also shares fourth on the team with a +12 plus/minus rating and has notched an even or plus rating in each of his last nine outings.

The 22-year-old blueliner also has appeared in four contests with Vancouver this season after he made his National Hockey League debut with the Canucks last year, collecting one assist in 29 contests during his rookie campaign.

The Toronto native also collected 8 assists, 9 points and 16 penalty minutes in 39 American Hockey League tilts with the Manitoba Moose last season.
