San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO â Feb. 14, 2004 â San Antonio Rampage General Manager Bobby Jay announced today that the Rampage has signed forward Nick Parillo to a Professional Tryout Offer. In addition, Jay announced that the Florida Panthers have recalled center Vaclav Nedorost from the American Hockey League club.
Parillo, 26, joins the Rampage today and will play in his first AHL game this season after playing Toledo's 4-3 overtime loss to the Johnstown Chiefs Friday night. The 5-foot-9, 180-pound native of Schenechtedy, N.Y. has appeared in 48 games this season with Toledo (ECHL) and co-leads the Storm, with 17-25-42 totals and 83 penalty minutes. He ranks second among ECHL scoring leaders in shorthanded goals with four.
Parillo played in seven games with three different AHL teams last season, spending time with the Grand Rapids Griffins, Milwaukee Admirals and Cincinnati Mighty Ducks. He collected one goal in those seven games. This will be the third straight season that Parillo will see time in the AHL after spending time with the Rochester Americans in 2001-2002.
Nedorost, 21, will join the Panthers for his second stint this season. He appeared in 15 games with the Panthers, after being recalled Nov. 14. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound native of Budejovice, Czech Republic, scored two points (one goal, one assist), with six penalty minutes before being reassigned to San Antonio on Dec. 16. In 82 career NHL games, Nedorost has tallied 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) and 28 penalty minutes. In 18 games with San Antonio this season, Nedorost has 13 points (seven goals, six assists).
He was acquired on July 19, 2003, along with LW Eric Messier, in a trade with Colorado, in exchange for LW Peter Worrell and a second-round draft choice in 2004. Nedorost was Colorado's first choice (14th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
