SAN ANTONIO (February 25, 2009) - San Antonio Rampage General Manager Brad Treliving announced today that they have released forward Igor Gongalsky from his Professional Try-Out (PTO).

Gongalsky, 22, signed a PTO on February 3 and played in six games with the Rampage. Prior to joining the Rampage he played in 14 games with the Stockton Thunder (ECHL) where he posted three goals and eight assists. He started the season with the now defunct Fresno Falcons recording six goals and six assists through 28 games.

The 6-foot, 215-pound native of Kiev, Ukraine spent last season with the Falcons posting 18 goals, 25 assists and 140 penalty minutes in 63 games. He also was selected to the 2008 ECHL All-Star team. Prior to turning pro in 2007, he spent two seasons in the Ontario Hockey League - Junior A hockey - with the Oshawa Generals and the Owen Sound Attack. He played alongside current Rampage rookie Brett MacLean in Oshawa for 56 regular season games (16 goals, 21 assists) and nine post season games (3 goals, 3 assists) during the 2006-07 season.
