Chicago Wolves News Release

Chicago Wolves defenseman SCOTT LEHMAN will make two appearances at local libraries on Wed., March 4, as part of the team's "Read to Succeed" program, sponsored by Pace. Members of the team visited 27 Chicagoland libraries this year as part of the program, which reached nearly 30,000 children.

The two appearances are scheduled for:

Wed., March 4: Scott Lehman Niles Library 6960 W. Oakton St. 4:30 p.m.

Wed., March 4: Franklin Park Library 10311 Grand Ave. 7 p.m. LEHMAN will focus on the role of reading and education in his life as a professional athlete and emphasize the importance of recreational reading. Additionally, the Wolves blueliner will dress a child in hockey equipment, raffle Wolves prizes and sign autographs.

The "Read to Succeed" program encourages children to utilize the many resources libraries have to offer and highlights the benefits of reading outside of the classroom. Each participant in the program sets an individual reading goal and has the chance to win prizes, including Wolves hats, mini bobbleheads of the Wolves mascot, Skates, and tickets to home games for achieving their reading goals.

Each year, the Wolves reach more than 30,000 children through "Read to Succeed" and the DuPage, North Suburban and Metropolitan Library Systems. The program has reached approximately 480,000 kids since its inception in 1995.
