
Clemmensen and Salmela Return to Lowell

LOWELL, Mass. - The Lowell Devils announced that goaltender Scott Clemmensen and defenseman Anssi Salmela have been returned by the New Jersey Devils.
Recalled under emergency conditions to New Jersey on November 3, Clemmensen posted a mark of 25-13-1 with a 2.39 goals-against average and .917 save percentage in 40 appearances. He notched back-to-back shutouts against the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins on Feb. 9 and Feb. 13.
The native of Des Moines, IA began the 2008-09 season in Lowell, going 4-3-1 over eight games with a 3.43 GAA and a .895 save percentage. An eighth round draft pick of the New Jersey Devils (#215 overall) in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, Clemmensen has appeared in 68 NHL games, compiling a 33-20-5 record, a 2.59 GAA and a .907 save percentage.
Salmela returns to Lowell after his third stint with the New Jersey Devils, where he has registered three assists in 17 games. Playing in his first professional season in North America, the Finland-native has recorded eight goals, 15 assists and 41 penalty minutes in 36 games with Lowell.
