Houston Aeros sign Matt Beaudoin, recall Dane Crowley

HOUSTON, Texas - Houston Aeros General Manager Tom Lynn has announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed center Matt Beaudoin to a standard players contract (SPC) and recalled defenseman Dane Crowley from the Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL.

Beaudoin, 24 (4/6/84), signed his SPC after posting 12 points (8 goals, 4 assists) in 19 games with the Aeros while playing on a professional tryout contract (PTO). The Rock Forest, PQ, native recorded the Aeros only hat trick of the season on February 14 in Iowa. He skated in 11 AHL games during brief stints with Hershey, Rochester, Iowa, San Antonio and Milwaukee since the 2007-08 season. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound forward also skated in 62 ECHL games during the 2007-08 season split between Las Vegas and Dayton while tallying 38 goals, 31 assists and 44 PIM.

Crowley, 22 (1/22/87), recorded three points (2-1=3) and eight PIMs in five games with Houston this season. Crowley, a sixth round (No. 168 overall) 2006 draft pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning, skated in 42 games with the ECHL's Phoenix RoadRunners where he tallied 15 points (5 goals, 10 assists) and 76 penalty minutes since his reassignment to the club on November 4.

The Aeros host the Rockford IceHogs Friday night at 7:35 p.m. as the teams battle for position within the West Division. The first 3,000 fans inside Toyota Center will receive a Curtis Murphy bobblehead, part five of the Aeros Legends Bobblehead Series. Tickets are still available for the game by calling (866) GO-AEROS or at the Toyota Center Box Office before the game. The contest is another Friday Night Ice game aired live on Fox Sports Houston if you are unable to make it to Toyota Center.
