Yan Stastny Assigned to Peoria

ST. LOUIS (February 25, 2009) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has assigned forward Yan Stastny to the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Stastny, 26, has played in 34 games this season with the Blues, registering seven points (three goals, four assists) along with 20 penalty minutes. While with the Rivermen, he has posted two goals, both shorthanded, and two penalty minutes in seven games.

The Quebec City, Quebec native was originally Boston's eighth round selection, 259th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

The Rivermen home stand concludes tonight when Peoria play host to the Rockford IceHogs at 7:00 p.m. It is the final Winning Wednesday and when the Rivermen win, all fans in attendance will receive a free ticket to the game on March 4.
