SAN ANTONIO (February 11, 2013) - San Antonio Rampage general manager Mike Santos announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has recalled from loan defenseman Josh McFadden from the team's ECHL affiliate, the Cincinnati Cyclones. In addition, the team announced that defenseman Mike Marcou has been released from his professional tryout contact and will return to the Greenville Road Warriors of the ECHL.
McFadden, 21, appeared in two games for the Rampage in October before departing for Cincinnati, where the blueliner has two goals and 10 assists in 22 games for the Cyclones. The Guelph, Ontario native played in 175 Ontario Hockey League games and spent the last three seasons with the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL. In three years with Sudbury, McFadden recorded 36 goals and 101 assists. While battling injuries last season, the 6-foot-1, 207-pound defenseman played in 47 games for Sudbury and tallied 41 points (15g, 26a).
Marcou, 23, played in two games for the Rampage since being signed to a PTO on Feb. 7 and owned a plus-two rating. The defenseman has played in 47 games for the Road Warriors this season, recording six goals, 16 assists and a plus-19 rating from the blueline en route to being named an ECHL All-Star. While at UMass-Amherst, Marcou played a total of 119 games in four years and tallied 17 goals and 26 assists.
The Rampage will continue their Rodeo Road with a three-in-three this weekend kicking off at Milwaukee on Friday at 7:00 p.m. The Silver and Black will return to AT&T Center on Saturday, March 2 at 7:00 p.m. to host their annual Military Appreciation Night.
