
Colins Agrees to PTO with Penguins

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that forward Chris Collins has been signed to a professional tryout agreement (PTO).
Collins, 28, was a member of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins during the 2010-11 season and posted 13 goals, 21 assists and 47 penalty minutes in 77 games. The Fairport, NY-native added five points (3G-2A) in 12 postseason contests.
Collins began 2012-13 with the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL, notching a goal and an assist in eight games. Signed to a PTO by Springfield on Dec. 10, Collins made four appearances with the Falcons.
A four-year letterman at Boston College, Collins made his pro debut in 2006-07 with the Long Beach Ice Dogs (ECHL). He went to play in 89 games for the Providence Bruins where he registered 24 goals, 19 assists and 87 PIM.
Collins has also spent three seasons overseas, skating with Augsburg and Nuremberg of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) and Lukko Rauma of the Finnish Elite Leauge (SM-liiga).
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins host the Binghamton Senators on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 7:05PM.
