Rampage lose third straight

OMAHA, Neb. (Feb. 16, 2006) - Jeff Taffe registered a goal and an assist to extend his scoring streak to two games although the San Antonio Rampage fell to the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights 4-2 Thursday night at the Omaha Civic Auditorium.

After falling 2-0 in the opening period with power-play goals, Taffe cut the Knights' lead to one at 15:40 in the second period with a power-play goal of his own. Defenseman Brad Tiley won a face-off which Pavel Brendl unleashed a one-timer on Brett Krahn. Taffe would re-direct the shot for his seventh goal of the season.

With 1:39 remaining in the period, Omaha regained their two-goal lead put the Rampage back at a two-goal deficit and outshoot San Antonio 29-12 after two periods.

The Knights jumped to a 4-1 lead just 2:45 into the third period as Omaha collected their third power-play goal of the night.

Three minutes later, Taffe would help bring the Rampage's deficit to two as he and defenseman David Cornacchia assisted on Eric Chouinard's 11th goal of the season.

The Rampage were one-for-two on the power play and were outshot 40-18. They conclude their third game in as many nights Friday in Peoria when they take on the Rivermen at 7:30 p.m. CT.
