AHL Adds Iowa Stars Game to XM Schedule

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars President John Pettit, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, today announced that the AHL has reached an agreement with XM Satellite Radio to broadcast an Iowa Stars game during the NHL Olympic Break.

XM Satellite Radio and XM Canada will carry the Iowa Stars Saturday, February 18th game between the Stars and visiting Houston Aeros on XM's all-hockey Home Ice channel, #204. The Stars game will have a special matinee start time of 1:05 PM. Following the game, fans are invited to join the Stars players back out on the ice for a player photograph session.

The game can still be heard locally on Praise 940 AM KPSZ and will also be shown on television throughout Iowa on The Mediacom Connections Channel.

XM's Home Ice all-hockey talk channel (channel 204) provides XM subscribers with groundbreaking hockey talk as well as live play-by-play coverage of more than 1,000 National Hockey League games per season. XM will become the exclusive satellite radio broadcaster of NHL games starting after next season.
