Iowa Chops News Release
The Iowa Stars today announced that they have listed three jerseys that are up for auction from the 2005-2006 Season on iowastarshockey.com.
Hockey fans worldwide will be able to place bids on the jerseys worn by Stars players on opening night of the Iowa Stars Inaugural Season by visiting iowastarshockey.com and clicking the jersey auction logo on the right side of the Iowa Stars main page. Each jersey will be listed for 14 days and begins February 17th.
Game Worn Jerseys that are up for auction include the Inaugural Season opening night jerseys of defenseman Shawn Belle, right winger Zack Stortini, and goaltender Mike Smith.
Belle Home White
Up for auction by the Iowa Stars of the American Hockey League is a Shawn Belle Iowa Stars GAME WORN OPENING NIGHT WHITE HOME Jersey #7, size Pro56. Currently in his rookie season, Shawn won the Gold Medal with Team Canada at the 2005 World Junior Championships. Drafted by St. Louis in 2003, the Edmonton, Alberta native was acquired by Dallas in exchange for goalie Jason Bacashihua on June 25th, 2004. This Jersey, made by Reebok Hockey, shows a few small fade marks inside the green portion of the front. There are also several puck marks that go across the front of the Jersey. On the top right front is a square KPWB 23 Logo patch. On the top left front is the Iowa Stars Inaugural Season patch. The shoulder patches feature the Dallas Stars Logo and the State Logo. The back of the jersey has several patches. Top center above the nameplate: Reebok logo. On the bottom right of the jersey: Reebok logo patch and an AHL secondary logo. All patches are sewn on and the jersey will come with a Certificate of Authenticity from the Iowa Stars.

Up for auction by the Iowa Stars of the American Hockey League is a Zack Stortini Iowa Stars GAME WORN OPENING NIGHT WHITE HOME Jersey #14, size Pro56. Stortini was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers with their 5th choice, third round, 94th overall in the NHL Entry Draft. Zack holds the distinction of being the player who scored the first-ever goal in Iowa Stars franchise history at 18:05 of 1st period on 10/6 vs. Peoria. He was recalled by Edmonton and reassigned to the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) on 1/18.

Up for auction by the Iowa Stars of the American Hockey League is a Mike Smith Iowa Stars GAME WORN OPENING NIGHT WHITE HOME Jersey #49, size Goalie Cut 60. On Oct. 26th, 2002, Mike Smith became the sixth goaltender in the ECHL history to score a goal. He posted a 21-save shutout that night. The Ontario native recorded an assist on B.J. Crombeen's first pro goal on Nov. 12th, 2005. Mike earned the Stars first shutout win on Nov. 19th, 1-0 vs. Hamilton. http://iowastarshockey.com/team/?id=457
