Today's Game: Tonight's intra-divisional contest against the Grand Rapids Griffins marks the conclusion of a two-game home stand for the San Antonio Rampage before embarking on a four-game road trip...The Rampage are T-4th in the West Division with four points (2-3-0-0 record) and Grand Rapids (3-0-0-0; 6pts.) is T-2nd in the division...Tonight's contest is the sixth of nine contests in the month of October...Last season, the San Antonio finished the regular season with a 30-42-8-0 record (68 pts.), finishing sixth in the Western Conference...The Griffins finished 2nd in the West Division with a 44-28-8-0 record (96 pts.).

Against Grand Rapids Griffins: Tonight's game is the second and final match-up of a two-game series between the two clubs, while marking the second meeting (of eight) for the 2004-05 season...On Friday, the Rampage let a one-goal lead slip away as the Griffins extended their winning streak to three with a 3-1 victory...Last season, the Rampage were 2-3-0-0 against the Griffins at the SBC Center...Their last home win was their final meeting Apr. 11, 2004 (4-3 win).

Miscellaneous Notes...

CHARRON'S 180 DEGREES: Tonight will be Rampage associate coach Guy Charron's second time facing his former club. He was the Grand Rapids head coach from 1998 to 2000 when the club was in the IHL. He led the Griffins to the 2000 IHL Turner Cup finals and an 85-62-17 overall record. Charron's franchise record of 164 regular-season games coached will be matched tonight by current Grand Rapids coach Danton Cole.

VIEW TO A (PENALTY) KILL: The Rampage have allowed only one power-play goal so far in the early season (1-17; 94.1%), but teams should note that last year Steve Ludzik spearheaded the Florida Panthers' penalty kill unit which finished 2nd in the NHL (86.4%) behind Detroit (86.8).

YOUNG AND RESTLESS: On Oct. 13, all 28 teams submitted their respective rosters totaling 677 players and averaging 23 years and 8 months—which was 10 months younger than last year. San Antonio was ranked as the fifth youngest averaging 23 years and 4 months, with Kamil Kreps registering as the youngest Rampage player who will turn 20 on Nov. 18.

THE WEST WING: Entering tonight's game, San Antonio has only played 3 games against a team in the West Division. The Rampage, who are 2-1-0-0 against their division rivals, are slated to play 56 contests against their division foes this season. In addition, San Antonio will face two Atlantic Division opponents (HFD, WOR) totaling four games, one East Division opponent (NOR) for four games and five North Division opponents (EDM, MTB, CLE, ROC, SYR) totaling 16 games. The Rampage, were 21-32-7-0 in 60 games against West Division opponents this season.

Rampage's Paul Healey scored at 8:58 in the opening period before Grand Rapids scored a pair of power-play goals. Griffins' Blake Sloan scored two of the three goals, including the second power-play goal and the empty-net goal in the final period. The Rampage had 10 penalties called for a total of 20 minutes.
