AHL San Antonio Rampage

Rampage find no love in Hartford

March 14, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL)
San Antonio Rampage News Release

HARTFORD - It might be a coincidence that the San Antonio Rampage suffered only their second shutout of the year against a goaltender facing his former employer for the second and final time of the regular season.

But San Antonio didn't give former Rampage netminder David LeNeveu much work either as he only had to stop 18 shots as the Hartford Wolf Pack whitewashed the Rampage 4-0 Friday night at the XL Center.

San Antonio did have one positive on the night as the penalty killing unit silenced all six of the Wolf Pack's power-play opportunities.

Rampage netminder Josh Tordjman, who entered the game having not lost in regulation in 11 of his last 12 starts (8-1-3), was barraged with 30 of Hartford's 34 shots in the first two periods-and allowing a pair of his three goals allowed for the night.

Mike Ouellette led Hartford's scoring with a pair of goals, including the game's first goal and eventual game-winner at 11:10 in the opening period. Artem Anisimov and former Rampage Josh Gratton scored once for the Wolf Pack, as Gratton's seventh goal of the season came via an empty net.

The Rampage (35-19-3-7; 80 points) will continue their four-game New England swing tomorrow night in Providence, Rhode Island, against the Bruins at 6 p.m. The Rampage are two points behind second-place Rockford in the West Division standings with three games in hand.
