SAN ANTONIO (December 10, 2011) -- The San Antonio Rampage received a third period power-play goal from center Bracken Kearns to slide past the Peoria Rivermen by a score of 2-1 in front of a crowd of 6,926 Saturday night at the AT&T Center. The Rampage wore themed jerseys for Salute to the Badges night that raised $21,000 in a post game jersey auction to benefit The Little Fighter Foundation.

Peoria center Anthony Nigro scored the game's first goal 8:44 into the second period. He worked the puck down low beneath the right circle and skated out in front of the net before lifting a shot that beat Rampage goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris over the left shoulder. Nigro's sixth marker of the season gave the Rivermen a 1-0 lead.

San Antonio answered Peoria's score with a goal of their own 24 seconds later when forward David Marshall pounced on the rebound of a point shot from defenseman Roman Derlyuk that caromed off of Rivermen backstop Jake Allen to the front of the crease. Marshall gathered the puck and swept it into an open net, just over the left leg of Allen for his fourth score of the season to tie the game at 1-1. Also receiving an assist on the play was left wing Eric Selleck.

The Rampage came out strong in the third period and fired 15 shots on Allen en route to a season-high 39 shots in a single game.

Kearns' power-play goal gave the Rampage their first lead of the game at the 5:49 mark of the final frame. Kearns planted himself in front of Allen and got his stick on a Colby Robak shot from the point. The deflected puck eluded Allen and found its way into the net as the Rampage took a 2-1 lead on Kearns' eighth goal of the campaign. Forward Greg Rallo notched his 200th career professional point on the play with the secondary assist.

Grumet-Morris turned aside 21 of 22 Rivermen shots to improve to 4-1-0 with the Rampage in 2011-12. Allen made 37 saves on 39 Rampage shooting attempts.

The Rampage (11-14-0-0) complete a set of three games in three days with a home contest against the Charlotte Checkers tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. (CST) at the AT&T Center.
