Rally Comes up Short

On Saturday night at FNB Field, the Altoona Curve snapped the Senators three-game winning streak with a 4-2 win. Altoona plated three runs in the fourth inning, with two coming on home runs, to take a 3-0 lead. The game stayed that way until the bottom of the eighth inning, when the Senators scored twice, but had the tying run thrown out at home on a single.

The Big Play

In the bottom of the eighth inning with Altoona leading 3-1, the Senators had the bases loaded and no outs. Jack Dunn singled into center field scoring one run, but Chavez Young threw out JT Arruda at the plate to keep Altoona on top 3-2.

On Capitol Hill

Michael Cuevas started and breezed through the first three innings. In the fourth he was touched for three runs. Two of the three scored on solo home runs and two of the three scored with two outs... Lucas Knowles followed and tossed two scoreless innings... Tyler Beck tossed the final two innings and allowed a ninth inning run.

With the Gavel

The Senators managed just three hits Saturday night, one each by Jack Dunn, Frankie Tostado and Onix Vega.

Filibusters

Chavez Young made two terrific defensive plays for Altoona, throwing out Arruda at the plate and he made a diving catch on a drive by James Wood in the first inning... The Senators didn't commit an error for the sixth consecutive game... Time of the game was 2:32 minutes in front of 5,031.

On the Docket

The Senators and Altoona Curve play game five of their six-game series Sunday night at 7:00 p.m. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Stations 96.5 FM, 95.3 FM, and 1400 AM beginning at 6:45 p.m.
