Fisher Cats Quiet Sea Dogs on Saturday Night

Manchester, New Hampshire - The Portland Sea Dogs (43-30) fell to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (36-36) 3-0 on Saturday night in Manchester. Despite the loss, the Sea Dogs remain in first place of the Northeast Division with a 0.5 game lead over the Somerset Patriots and the Hartford Yard Goats.

Nathan Hickey collected the only two hits for the Sea Dogs with a leadoff single in the second inning and a two-out single in the sixth inning. He now is hitting .292 this season with Portland.

The Fisher Cats scored first in the bottom of the third inning. After a one out single by Steward Berroa, he scored on an RBI double by Orelvis Martinez and New Hampshire led, 1-0. Damiano Palmegiani extended their lead, 2-0 with an RBI single to centerfield.

New Hampshire extended their lead with a sacrifice fly by Sebastian Espino and the Sea Dogs trailed, 3-0.

RHP Sem Robberse (1-5, 4.19 ERA) earned his first win of the season with New Hampshire and tossed 5.2 scoreless innings allowing two hits while walking two and striking out three. RHP Hunter Dobbins (1-1, 3.48 ERA) was given the loss pitching 5.1 innings allowing three runs on eight hits while walking one and striking out four. Connor Cooke earned his second save for the Fisher Cats pitching a perfect ninth inning.

The Sea Dogs and Fisher Cats will meet again tomorrow, Sunday July 2nd at 7:05pm in Manchester. Portland will send RHP Brian Van Belle (6-3, 2.61 ERA) to the mound while New Hampshire is TBA.
