State College Spikes News Release

LOWELL, MA - The State College Spikes regularly scheduled game against the Lowell Spinners at LeLacheur Park was suspended due to rain.

The two teams resumed Tuesday's suspended game, which concluded with the Spikes falling to the Spinners, 4-3. The Spikes and Spinners then attempted to play Wednesday's regularly scheduled game.

After the first four innings, the two teams were neck-and-neck with a two-all, tied score when all the lights on the field went off! Heavy lightning and thunderstorms in the area were possibly to blame for the power outage. When the lights came back on, heavy rains had made the conditions unplayable.

The Spikes and Spinners will repeat the same plan tomorrow, resuming Wednesday's suspended game at 6:05 p.m. Thursday's regularly scheduled game will follow and will be shortened to seven innings. This is the only time the two teams meet all season.

Ramon Aguero (1-5) was originally scheduled to take the mound for the Spikes against Lowell's Kyle Weiland (0-1). All the action can be heard on the Spikes Radio Network, 95.3/3WZ or by logging onto www.statecollegespikes.com.
