Rain Follows Shorebirds to K-Town

KANNAPOLIS, NC - Due to inclement weather across the Piedmont region, Monday night's Delmarva Shorebirds-Kannapolis Intimidators game has been postponed.
The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday, May 18 in Kannapolis. First pitch for Game 1 is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with Game 2 to follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. Both games will last seven innings.
Rain has been a near-constant when the Shorebirds have faced the Intimidators in recent years. Last season four separate dates in Kannapolis were postponed due to bad weather. The teams were pegged to play a six-game series over four days from June 11-14; two of the games were cancelled and the other four were played as two doubleheaders.
The Shorebirds and Intimidators will begin their now-two-game series on Tuesday night. Nick Vespi is expected to make his season debut against Kannapolis' Kade McClure. First pitch on Monday is set for 7:00 p.m., and pregame coverage on Fox Sports 960 AM and the MiLB First Pitch app begins at 6:45 with Will DeBoer on the call.
