CLEBURNE, Texas - The Cleburne Railroaders have signed outfielder Chevy Clarke, the club announced Friday.

Clarke, a former 1st-round pick of the Los Angeles Angels in 2010, owns a career 224/.318/.356 batting line across seven seasons of professional baseball.

Clarke played most recently for the Vallejo Admirals of the Pacific Association of Professional Baseball in 2017, slashing .266/.359/.424 with 10 homers and 39 RBI across 77 games. Clarke also stole 24 bases and slugged 18 doubles.

The Marietta, GA native spent five years in the Angels organization, reaching High-A Inland Empire in 2014. His best year came with the Orem Owlz of the Pioneer League in 2012, in which he slashed .271/.388/.384 with a .772 OPS over 53 games.

Clarke was drafted straight out of Marietta High School - the same school former No. 1 overall pick and current Atlanta Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson went to - and has played almost exclusively in the outfield during his seven-year pro career.

The Railroaders are currently in Lincoln, Neb. for a three-game set against the Lincoln Saltdogs, but return home to open a seven-game homestand beginning Monday, June 11 against the Wichita Wingnuts. Enjoy five-dollar berm tickets and one-dollar hot dogs at every Monday home game in 2018, as part of our #MondayMadness nights at The Depot. Tickets can be purchased at www.railroaderbaseball.com or by calling (817) 945-8705.
