Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release

MOOSIC, PA -The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (54-50) and Buffalo Bisons had their series finale suspended on Sunday afternoon with the score tied at 1-1 in the middle of the sixth inning. The game will be completed on September 26.

LJ Talley broke a scoreless tie in the fifth with a solo home run against RailRiders' starting pitcher Mitch Spence. It was the third long ball this season for Talley with Buffalo. Spence pitched five innings of one-run ball with three punchouts in his second career Triple-A start.

The RailRiders answered in the bottom of the frame with a run of their own. With runners on first and second, Chris Owings single up the middle to bring Phillip Evans home and knot things up. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre loaded the bases later in the frame, but couldn't grab the lead.

Following a scoreless frame of relief from Richard Rodríguez in the top of the sixth, a storm system moved in and the game was eventually suspended. A game time for the eventual doubleheader in September has yet to be determined.

The RailRiders continue their 12-game homestand on Tuesday night with first pitch at 6:35 PM against the Worcester Red Sox. It's "Twosday" at PNC Field. Get 2-for-1 lawn or bleacher seats online only and enjoy $2 Landshark Lager tallboys for two hours after gates open, presented by PrimoHoagies and The River.
