16 KIDS LOSSES AND COUNTING: The Rochester Red Wings dropped their 16th-straight game last night, losing 3-1 to Columbus...the 16 consecutive losses continues to extend the franchise record which was previously set at 12 losses...recently acquired SS CJ Abrams collected his first knock as a member of the Nationals organization with his first-inning line drive...DH Nick Banks recorded the only multi-hit effort for the Wings, going 2-for-4 with a pair of singles...2B Jake Noll knocked in the lone run for Rochester, picking up his 49th RBI of the year...LHP Alberto Baldonado and LHP Matt Cronin logged 2.1 innings of scoreless baseball, walking and striking out one...RHP Cade Cavalli gets the ball for the Wings today who look to snap the franchise-long losing streak.

WELCOMING KNOCK: SS CJ Abrams picked up his first base knock in the Nationals organization, going 1-for-3 with a run and a walk against the Clippers last night...if the Georgia-native picks up an RBI in tonight's contest, it will be his 75th career MiLB RBI...in his last 15 games played (13 w/ SD, two w/ ROC), the shortstop is slashing .323/.353/.452 with a homer, four RBI and four runs...Abrams was a part of the blockbuster trade that sent Juan Soto and Josh Bell to the San Diego Padres.
EYE ON THE DAHL: RF David Dahl extended his hit-streak to four games with his 1-for-4 effort last night...Dahl has a hit in 16 of his last 21 games (since 6/30) and earned a seven-game hit-streak in that time (6/30-7/7)...the lefty bat has a .279 (81-for-290) average in Triple-A this year (two teams: ROC & NAS) with 10 homers, a triple, 18 doubles, and 45 RBI...
if the Alabama-native picks up an RBI tonight it will be his 300th of his Minor League career.
THE GRASSY NOLL: 2B Jake Noll went 1-for-4 with an RBI last night...the Florida-native has a knock in 20 of his last 27 games with nine of those performances being of the multi-hit variety...Noll has knocked in a run in 3-of-his-last 4 games...should he hit an RBI tonight, Noll will have 50 this season.
TAKE IT TO THE BANK: DH Nick Banks went 2-for-4 in last night's game, breaking a three-game hitless streak...coming into the game, Banks was 0-for-his-last-12 with his last hit coming on 7/28 against Scranton/WB...the lefty now has 10 multi-hit performances on the season.
BULLY-PEN: In last night's contest, the Rochester bullpen tossed 2.1 innings of near-perfect baseball, only letting one batter reach base on a walk while striking out a lone Clipper...the Wings' pen has allowed an International League-fewest long balls (36) while striking out the fourth-most batters (542) amongst relievers...Red Wings relievers are ranked fourth in lowest batting average against (.230, 402-for-1749) in the IL.
DON'T MAKE CADE ANGRY: RHP Cade Cavalli will get the ball for the Wings tonight as the squad looks to get their first win since 7/15...if Cavalli tosses two innings or more tonight, he will have the most innings pitched (80) on the squad, currently second place to RHP Logan Verrett (81.2)...the Oklahoma-native has given up just two earned runs across his last four starts (19.2 IP), punching out 20 batters in the process (9.4 K/9)...the Nats' former top prospect has a 4.05 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP this season.
ROC 'COL: The Clippers will send Canadiagua-native LHP Adam Scott to the mound today...the Rochester-area product was a 2018 4th round pick out of Wofford College...Scott owns a 4-3 record with a 7.09 ERA in 24 games including 12 starts...in his last start (8/3) against Rochester, the Wofford-alum tossed 0.1 innings, scattering a hit and walking two batters.
