GARY â The Gary SouthShore RailCats (Northern League) announced today that infielder / outfielder Barry Schell has been placed on irrevocable waivers for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release.
Schell, 26, signed with the RailCats June 2 and batted 3-for-36 (.083) in ten games.
The RailCats (6-17) host the South Division-leading Schaumburg Flyers (17-6) today at 7 pm at U. S. Steel Yard, in the first of a split, four-game, home-and-home series. Tonight is 4-H Night and Hobart Community Night. Residents of Hobart (with valid photo ID), 4-H groups of 20 or more, and anyone wearing 4-H apparel receives $2 off the price of box and reserved seat tickets. Tonight is also the first RailCats Picture Pack Night, with the first 1,000 fans receiving RailCats picture packs courtesy of Great Lakes Orthopedics. The game will also be broadcast on the RailCats Radio Network, including WEFM 95.9, WJOB 1230 AM, and www.sportsjuice.com.
