Sioux Falls Canaries News Release
(SIOUX FALLS, SD) â The Sioux Falls Canaries announced Monday that right-fielder Matt Walker was sold to the Baltimore Orioles organization. Walker will report directly to Double-A Bowie and is expected to start immediately.
Walker was batting .313 for the Canaries with two homeruns, 12 RBI, and 8 doubles. He played a stellar right field, and was a class citizen for the ball club.
"I told Matt that when he signed here that if he played the right way I would do my best to help him out," said Canaries Manager Doc Edwards. "If every player played the way Walker does, it would be even more fun to watch the game."
Sioux Falls has not yet made a move to fill Walker's shoes.
The Canaries 2004 season is well underway. Great ticket packages are now on sale and can be ordered by calling (605) 333-0179.
