RailCats Sign Infielder Zach Tanner

GARY, Ind. - Before tonight's series finale against the Kansas City T-Bones, Greg Tagert and the RailCats announced the signing of infielder Zach Tanner.

Tanner, 22, is a rookie out of Muncie, Indiana. He spent the last two seasons playing collegiately at Wright State University. As a senior in 2012, Tanner hit .324 with one home run and 30 runs batted in and was primarily a third baseman.

In 2011, he hit .374 in 52 games with five home runs and 34 RBI. Tanner was named Most Valuable Player of the Horizon League Tournament and First Team All-Horizon League.

The active roster currently stands at the league maximum 22.
