LAST TIME OUT: The Rail Yard Dawgs took a 2-1 lead on a Jackson Brewer power play goal in the second period but then allowed five unanswered goals and fell to the Fayetteville FireAntz, 6-2, Sunday at the Crown Coliseum. Roanoke finished 1-for-12 on the power play in the loss. FireAntz forward Jake Hauswirth scored a natural hat trick and netted all three of his goals on the power play.

GOING THE WRONG WAY: Sunday's loss was Roanoke's seventh straight, extending its longest losing streak of the season. The Dawgs have been outscored 30-14 over the streak and now sit tied for ninth place in the SPHL.

HATS OFF: Fayetteville's Jake Hauswirth netted a natural hat trick on Sunday, becoming the third Roanoke opponent to tally a hat trick. Hauswirth scored three consecutive goals in the second and third period, all on the power play.

POWER FLICKERING: Roanoke went 1-for-12 on the power play on Sunday, the most power play opportunities it has had in a game this season. The Dawgs have power play goals in back to back games but are just 3-for-46 on the man advantage in their last ten games.

ABOUT FAYETTEVILLE: The FireAntz enter Friday's game 7-7-1, tied for seventh place in the SPHL. Fayetteville has the league's second best power play, converting at a 19.3% success rate and the FireAntz have points in four straight games, going 3-0-1 in that stretch.

PROVE PEOPLE WRONG: Jackson Brewer scored in the second period on Sunday and now has power play goals in each of the past two games. Brewer leads the team with 15 points, five goals and ten assists, and is tied for ninth in the league in scoring. He totaled 33 points in 51 games with Knoxville, Huntsville and Macon in 2015-16 in the SPHL, his first professional season.

FINISHING SLOW: The Rail Yard Dawgs have been out-scored, 22-9, in the third period this season. Roanoke is 0-7-1 when entering the third period trailing in the game.

ANT INFESTATION: Roanoke is in the midst of three consecutive games against the FireAntz, having played on Sunday in Fayetteville before this weekend's set in Roanoke. The Dawgs are 1-2-0 in three games against the FireAntz and won the only prior meeting in Roanoke, 4-2, on 11/4.

CROSSING THE STATE: Travis Armstrong was returned from a four-game stint with the Norfolk Admirals (EDM: ECHL) on Friday and Brandon Anderson was loaned to Norfolk on Wednesday. Armstrong did not record a point in time with the Admirals. Anderson returns to the ECHL where he played 75 games as a member of the Washington Capitals organization from 2012-15. He stopped 25 of 28 shots and picked up the win in Norfolk's 4-3 shootout victory on Wednesday, becoming the first former Dawg to record an ECHL win.

UP NEXT: The Rail Yard Dawgs and FireAntz tangle again on Saturday at 7:05 PM for the first annual Teddy Bear Toss game.
