Prince Albert Raiders News Release

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan - The Prince Albert Raiders have acquired 20 year-old left winger Michael MacAngus from the Regina Pats in exchange for 20 year-old left winger Matt Robertson. The Raiders also acquire the Pats' 4th round pick in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft.

MacAngus will be joining his third WHL team, after the Pats acquired him from the Saskatoon Blades during the 2006-07 season. In his fourth year in the WHL, MacAngus contributed 10 points in 10 playoff games for the Pats in their 06-07 playoff run and has 26 games WHL post season experience. This season MacAngus was fifth in Pats scoring with 11 goals and 17 assists in 44 games.

Robertson, whom the Raiders listed in April, 2006, was the WHL Eastern Conference Rookie of the Year in 2006-07 when he had 64 points in 69 games to lead the Raiders in scoring. Last year Robertson tied for the team lead in scoring with 59 points. In 08-09 Robertson was fourth in team scoring with 15 goals and 19 assists in 44 games.

"It is very difficult to lose a player and person of the quality of Matt Robertson and we wish him all the very best in Regina", said Raiders General Manager and Head Coach Bruno Campese. "In Michael MacAngus we acquire size, toughness and a player that has been consistent with his point production through the years."

MacAngus is expected to join in the Raiders for their Alberta road trip which starts tomorrow night in Calgary.
