Prince Albert, Saskatchewan - The Prince Albert Raiders and Prince George Cougars have traded 17 year-old forwards. The Raiders have acquired right winger Ryan Kowalski in exchange for the WHL rights to centre Robbie Ciolfi, who is currently playing with Drayton Valley Thunder in the Alberta Junior League.

Kowalski, who was the Cougars 2nd round selection, 35th overall in the 2006 WHL Bantam Draft, is in his second season with Prince George. He has one assist in 35 games in 08-09.

Ciolfi, whom the Raiders acquired one year ago from Lethbridge along with Brent Martin for Jeff May, started the season with the Raiders but did not appear in any games due to a wrist injury. Ciolfi has appeared in 13 games with the Thunder with 2 goals and 10 assists.

"Ryan Kowalski is a good young player that has a lot of potential and we are excited to add him to our lineup", said Raiders General Manager and Head Coach Bruno Campese. "This also provides Robbie Ciolfi with the opportunity to play full time in the WHL and we wish him well with his career in Prince George."

Kowalski is expected join the Raiders on their upcoming Alberta road trip which starts Wednesday in Calgary.
