
Rafters Travel to Green Bay to Kick off Road Trip

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - The Rafters took the first game of the two-game series against the Green Bay Bullfrogs 11-7 yesterday. The Rafters are 16-20 on the season and 1-0 in the second half. Despite an early lead by the Frogs, the Rafters came back and used their heat offense to rally.
Gareth Stroh (Purdue) earned the win. He pitched six innings striking out four batters. Another notable Rafter yesterday was Payton Robertson (Louisiana State Shreveport). He had the two run single to take the lead for the Rafters in the third inning. He also made a phenomenal line drive catch to end the fourth inning.
Taking the bump tonight for the Rafters is Trayson Kubo (Stephen F. Austin). Kubo has been a reliable starter for the Rafters this season. He sports a 3-1 record and a 0.96 ERA. In 28 innings pitched, he has struck out 24 batters, walked 14 and allowed 16 walks.
Pitching for the Bullfrogs is Ryan Gowens from Arizona. The senior sports a 1-0 record with a 4.15 ERA. This will be his third start of the season. In 8.2 innings pitched he struck out eight batters.
The first pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. at Joannes Stadium.
