Rafters Look to Sweep Bullfrogs

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - The Rafters snapped a two-game skid and got back to .500 with a 3-1 win over the Green Bay Bullfrogs last night at Joannes Stadium in Green Bay, Wis. James Davitt (Bryant) was superb for Wisconsin Rapids in his Northwoods League debut, pitching seven shutout innings with nine strike outs in relief. Zack Domingues (Long Beach State), Mitch McGeein (Eastern Michigan) and Jake Sandlin (Georgia College) tallied two hits each to lead the Rafters at the plate. Sandlin leads the Northwoods League with 13 hits through six games.

The Rafters square off with the Bullfrogs again tonight at Witter Field in the second half of a home-and-home series with Wisconsin Rapids' rivals to the east. First pitch is at 6:35 p.m. and gates will open at 5:35 p.m.

Adam Hall (Xavier) will be on the mound for the Rafters tonight, making his second start for Wisconsin Rapids in 2015. The right hander picked up the win in his debut against the Wisconsin Woodchucks on Opening Day, throwing 4.2 innings while surrendering three runs on just two hits and striking out four.

Tonight's game is the Advanced Disposal "Summertime St. Patty's Day", which features the Rafters players and coaches wearing leprechaun themed jerseys. The jerseys will be available for auction, with the bidding starting at $50. Bidding on the jerseys will continue through the seventh inning and the winners of the jerseys will be announced during the eighth inning. Proceeds from the auction will go towards the Witter Field mural project.
