Rafters Look to Close Successful Homestand

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (1-0) ride a seven-game win streak into the final game of the homestand against the Wisconsin Woodchucks (0-1) on the Fourth of July.

The Rafters have now won 10 consecutive games at Historic Witter Field, including shutting out the Woodchucks in game one Wednesday. Starting pitcher Nate Barnes pitched eight shutout innings with five strikeouts and Jake Dunham added four RBIs.

Wisconsin Rapids now has a 4-3 series lead over the Woodchucks in the team's 10thAnniversary Season. The Rafters closed the first half in second place in the Great Lakes West Division.

Zack Hunsicker is expected to start on the mound for the Rafters. He has a 2-1 record and 13 strikeouts in just over 16 innings pitched. Against the Woodchucks, Hunsicker is 2-0 with seven strikeouts. The Woodchucks bring a 4.72 team ERA into tonight's matchup.

The Rafters begin a five-game road trip that starts in Fond du Lac on Friday. The team returns home to face the Dock Spiders on Quality Feed and Seed Bark in the Park Night.
