Wisconsin Rapids, WI - June 17, 2012 - The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters treated their fathers to a blowout win Sunday on Bull's Eye Credit Union Play Catch with Dad Day for Father's Day. The Rafters toppled the Bombers 12-4 in front of 1,200 Witter Field fans for their fifth consecutive win.

Cole Webb (SO, Valparaiso Univ.) had his worst outing of the year. The right-hander battled through five innings, allowing four runs, two earned. He served up his first two homers of the year, a rope from Dylan Delaney and a bomb from Daniel Rockett, part of a three-run third that gave Battle Creek a 4-2 lead.

For the fourth time in five games, the Rafters had to come from behind to winand they did. Two four innings runs for the Rafters, capitalizing on the third of six errors committed by the Bombers, made it 4-3.

The Rafters batted around in fifth. They plated four more, two of them unearned, as a barrage of singles and two more errors gave the Rafters a commanding 8-4 lead. The Rafters ran away with the win.

The combination of freshman Kenny Towns (FR, Univ. of Virginia), making a surprise relief appearance, and Tommy Danczyk (SO, St. Thomas Univ.) hurled four scoreless frames. Towns, who hadn't pitched since high school, looked strong. The righty worked out of a bases-loaded no-out jam and struck out three in two inningstopping 91 mph on the radar gun and commanded a devastating curveball.

Nick Ammirati (JR, Mississippi State Univ.) reached base three times, including a two-run bomb, his first, late in the game. The catcher also did a great job behind the dish, limited the speedy Bombers, first in the division in steals coming into the series, to just 1-of-2 in stolen base attemps, after Battle Creek went 1-3 in the first meeting Saturday.

In fact, the Rafters dominated Battle Creek on the base paths in the series. The Rafters stole six bases in both games, going an eye-popping 12-for-13 on steals.

The Rafters once again got to Battle Creek's bullpen, handing Dan Tyson (1-2) his second loss of the season. Cole Webb pitched well enough to win, improving to 2-0.

At the conclusion of the game, the Rafters (10-9) moved into sole possession of second place, with Green Bay and Lakeshore, both 9-9, in action later on Sunday. The Rafters take on Eau Claire (7-11), last in the division, for the next three. They play at home against the Express Monday and Wednesday and in Eau Claire Tuesday evening. The Bombers (9-10), travel back home to take on the first place La Crosse Loggers (12-5) for three games
