Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (32-37, 17-17 2nd half) defeated the Wisconsin Woodchuck (28-42, 16-19 2nd half) 3-2 on Friday night at Witter Field. The Rafters took the lead late as Alex Fedje-Johnson (Davidson) collected a hit to right and scored on an airmailed errant throw from the Woodchucks right fielder Dom Derenzo.

The Woodchucks started the scoring in fourth on an RBI sac fly from Nick Loftin. Wisconsin tacked on more on another sac fly in the fifth, this one courtesy of Javier Valdes. Wisconsin Rapids responded with an RBI sac fly of their own in the fifth. Jack-Thomas Wold (UNLV) collected the RBI on the sacrifice fly to center and in the seventh Wold tied the game with an RBI fielder's choice.

In the eighth, Alex-Fedje Johnson collected a base hit and scored on the same play due to a Woodchuck error from right fielder Dom Derenzo. Derenzo airmailed the throw all the way to opposite side of the field in foul territory. Fedje-Johnson scored to make it 3-2 Wisconsin Rapids.

Hunter Robichaux (2-2, 2.78 ERA) earned the with two scoreless relief innings and three strikeouts. Mason Cole (1-4, 5.45 ERA) suffered the loss on the unearned run in the eighth.

Tomorrow is the last home game for the Rafters in the 2018 season. The cranberry and gold will take on the Green Bay Bullfrogs at 6:05 p.m. CT.
