Wisconsin Rapids Rafters News Release

Wausau, Wis. - It's opening week in the Northwoods League, presented by Edvest, but the Rafters were unable to play their game tonight as originally scheduled. After traveling to Athletic Park, the Rafters and Woodchucks fell victim to inclement weather and were unable to take the field. After a delay spanning nearly 90 minutes, word came from the league office that the harsh weather and poor field conditions would be unplayable and the game would be rescheduled. At the time of publication, the Northwoods League office had not made an official decision regarding when the matchup would be rescheduled.

The Rafters (2-1) will return to Witter Field tomorrow night to host the Madison Mallards (4-0) in the first of what will be a four-game split series. Following tonight's postponement, the Rafters will look to pick up where they left off on Thursday night after routing the Woodchucks and taking their second game in a row. First pitch between the Rafters and Mallards at Witter Field is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. on Saturday.
